Homemade Ice Lollies

Apparently they are called lolly ices in Liverpool… they do everything backwards it seems…
I have been eating a LOT of ice cream. In my defence, it is really hot here. And I love ice cream – in fact it’s my favourite thing ever. Plus I’m now an adult and I am old enough to make my own decisions as my dad always says… but still, even I know that 8 ice creams a day isn’t very good for me. Ahem.
So in a plea to myself to be a little more healthy, I have been making ice lollies! If you need something quick and refreshing that is actually good for you, look no further…
photo 1Add a load of blueberries into the ice lolly moulds (they are super cheap at IKEA) and then pour over some delicious-full-of-vitamins-juice. Don’t pour the juice right to the top, as when it melts it expands a little – you have been warned!
photo 2The only difficulty is pushing in the sticks, as the blueberries take up a lot of space, so another option is cutting them in half or using other fruit as well. I just yanked them in there and here is the result. Delicious and healthy!
