    Pottery Art Café in Cologne

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone… Last time I went to Cologne was in the deepest of winter and the town was covered in a layer of white snow. Basically it was bloody freezing and I didn’t want to spend any time outside unless it was drinking mulled wine at the Xmas Market or naked in the spa. I met Marina in Japan and we had a mini reunion in Cologne with some other friends from Japan and of the four days I spent there, I spent three entire days in Marina’s lovely Pottery Art Café. Honestly, it was just magical. I met up with some school friends who I…

    Cologne in One Day

Putting on cologne in Cologne… As promised, I’m going to give you a little mash-up of our short trip to Cologne. It’s the second time I’ve been, last time for the Xmas markets, but because Jason’s not seen the Dom yet and we were literally in the area, plus one of my favourite friends and her dog lives there, we just had to pop in for two days. One day we spent in the lovely shop my friend has and another we explored the town… not only food, but mostly food… ahem… So, without further ado, here’s what you must see, do and EAT: I love how the minute you…

Tax doesn't have to be tax-ing in Berlin

Help! I need somebody… Help! Not just anybody… I hate doing taxes. In England it’s bad enough, but having done it now for many years I’ve managed to get it down and finish it in less than ten minutes. Oh yeah!! However, here in Germany it’s full of long German words like Einkommensteuerreformgesetz and Berechnungsvorschriften or Solidaritätszuschlag. Basically, even google can’t explain this stuff to me and now the tax people are nagging us to sort this out, in a big panic we went to an accountant. And it was the best decision we have made since coming to Germany. OMG WHAT A LEGEND. I will give you all his information at…

    Düsseldorf

I’ve been so many places in my life and time… I’m not going to beat around the bush here, there was only one reason why we went to Düsseldorf and that was to try the Japanese food. I’ve always heard everyone rave about it and Japanese people travel specifically to this city to eat. I wish I could say it was so amazing that I will do it again, but alas, it wasn’t. The actual city is super cute though. I’m going to be lazy and just tell you about it all under the photos (I’m still sick so feeling ready to go back to bed and rest again now –…

    Take That in Concert

Could this be the Greatest Day? I still remember hearing the song ‘Could It Be Magic’ for the first time. I was a child, lying in bed and the radio was on. Instantly I loved the song and knew I would become a fan. Then, the first poster I ever bought was of Take That – in the days when there were still five of them. I had started a crafting business with a friend making buttons and friendship bracelets and we had managed to make around £20 – not bad for two girls probably still under 10 years old. Amongst the things we bought was that poster that went…

The Flu and a Lifetime Achievement!

There is no one else… I’ve mostly been excited about getting my photo on the front page of the BBC – this has been a life goal for me and I made it! It was taken in the lovely little town I lived in for three years and I’ve told everyone there and they are so excited to be featured – next step is to make it a UNESCO site 🙂 In other news… I’m sick. Really badly sick. It’s been going on for almost two weeks now. At first I just pumped myself full with Ibuprofen so it was okay for a week, but just as I was starting…
