Buying the Cheapest Train Tickets in Berlin

The sound of the underground… We arrived in Berlin during the summer – a perfect time to be outdoors cycling or walking. However with only four days in two months without guests, we had no time to wander around our local area, let alone buy bikes. So we did the normal thing you do in London: we bought daily travel cards and discovered this fabulous city. If only we’d known how many options there are for buying train tickets in Berlin – we would have saved so much money and since we love you all so much, we are going to share what we have learnt. Tickets can be used…

    Underground Tours Berlin

The sound of the Underground… We’ve actually been wanting to go on an Underground Tour in Berlin for ages. We picked the subway/ bunker tour and it was amazing. Let me tell you all about it. On the website it says you will have to wait in a queue and it’s first-come-first-served, but we got there ten minutes before the start, grabbed tickets in less than 30 seconds and we were off soon after (it was a weekday in November though…). There was a random door on the street that we opened and down the stairs we went! We started in a WWII bunker that was converted into a bomb…

    Paint Your Style – Berlin

Give it all to me… I know we just told you about the Pottery Art Cafe in Cologne, but it kinda gave me a bug for drawing on ceramic and so I tried it out in Berlin as well. It is just such a lovely experience! Paint Your Style is a lovely shop all over Germany and the staff are friendly, the choice is great and there are tons of ideas all over the place to explore (AKA: steal – ahem). Here is what I made: The shop is big, has a whole area at the back that you could book out for a special occasion. I’ve heard that on a…

Doublesix Dice – Board Gaming Opulence Part 1

Good afternoon internet folks. Allow me to introduce you to a short series on what I am referring to as ‘Board gaming opulence’. Essentially, items and accessories for the board/card/tabletop gaming world that are pretty much unncessary but bring a massive smile to my face for their existence! Doublesix Dice have the honour of featuring in this first installment. What are double six dice I hear you say? Well they are just like regular 6-sided dice (d6 to the dice aficionados out there) except that the dice have 12-sides (d12) with numbers 1 through 6 printed twice. What is the point of such a thing when we already have had…

    Foodie Penpals

We like to party… You all know I’m obsessed with food and so when I heard about Foodie Penpals I couldn’t resist – especially as two of my favourite bloggers Charlotte and Bev are both involved too! Milou, a lovely lady from the Netherlands, sent me the coolest package ever! Check out all these goodies. They arrived at 8pm and ten minutes later then Pims (just like Jaffa cakes) and the Snack a Jacks had been devoured! There was a lovely card and I had said to Milou that I love citrus flavours, so she had sent a load of fun lemon/ lime/ orange flavoured things to us. I’m most excited…

Board game shopping in Leipzig, Germany

Vanessa and I love to travel, it almost doesn’t matter where we go, as long as we are adventuring to fun and exciting places that have some delicious food to offer! But being the massive board game geek that I am, I always have a quick search to see if there are any board game shops in the town we are visiting. More often than not, I’m in luck! Leipzig was one of our more recent excursions and it was no exception (you can read more about Leipzig in one of our earlier posts HERE!). Leipzig is pretty close to Berlin and is a very beautiful town to visit and…
