Vienna – Day Three

Gimme more, Gimme more!
After yet another very lazy morning (we are on holiday after all!), we wandered over to Kunsthaus Wien, Hundertwasser’s museum. I remember all those years ago finding this treasure and having to go inside the museum to experience more. I’ve actually written all about the artist before, when we visited Magdeburg – so feel free to check it out there. Otherwise, just look at these stunning photos and put it on your list of places you absolutely cannot miss when visiting Vienna, however it was a lot more run-down then I remember. It felt like it needed a good old lick of paint.

Then it was time for the Naschmarkt. Everyone talks about this and on Saturdays there is a flea market alongside the food stalls. We ate sausages with runny cheese inside from a cute little hole in the wall, enjoyed the atmosphere and had a splendid time – just be warned that the flea market is probably covered in fleas – people just offloaded the rubbish they don’t want onto the ground and then you buy what you want at super cheap prices. Nothing even looked slightly tempting, but if you’re up for a hunt, then maybe you will find a treasure.

We then actually went home for a nap and played a load of boardgames and chilled. All this eating must make me tired – haha! We ended up hungry quite late on in the evening, so it was a good thing we were staying next to Schwedenplatz as there is literally one fast-food stall after the other and we all managed to find what we were craving! Epic day once again 🙂
