Happy Thanksgiving (British-style)

Hello everyone!
Today is Thanksgiving over in the United States of America and we here at Maison Leather and Abel thought we would hop on the thanksgiving train and rustle up some tasty food for the evening as well. Being the British ambassadors that we are, it would only be proper to make our nation’s favourite dish — Chicken Tikka Masala!
We spotted Americans rushing around our local supermarket today trying to find all sorts of last minute ingredients to their meals. One group of men were running around desperately trying to find a lemon to stuff their turkey with.
Luckily we didn’t have to compete for similar ingredients. Just some chicken breasts, tomatoes, rice, cream and curry paste.

To make the day even more special, we washed the curry down with a chocolate Vienntta. The last time I had one of those was many years ago with my family while sharing a KFC bucket of chicken!
In the spirit of thanksgiving, firstly I’d like to say I’m thankful for being able to make a tikka masala here in Germany. Living here just got a tad bit easier. Secondly, I’m thankful for the lovely guy we met today who gave us an incredible computer desk for free via freecycle and to our lovely taxi driver that helped us get it home when we suddenly realised, already stood out on the street with the desk, that we couldn’t carry massive slabs of wood and metal 5 miles across town.
Finally, I’m really thankful that we’re going to meet lots of our lovely friends over in Dresden as part of our jolly holidays this weekend. Expect a full post-Christmas market / mulled wine / stollen cake bonanza report next week!
Let us know what you are thankful for today 🙂
