    The Twin Towers

Remember, Remember… There are certain events that happen and everyone remembers where they were at that moment – when the first man landed on the moon, when Princess Diana died, when the planes hit the Twin Towers in New York… I remember that day well. I was 18 years old and living in Japan for the first time. I had only been there a couple of weeks and my host-mother came to wake me up. She showed me the images on the TV – the planes hitting the towers, fire, people panicking… I didn’t understand what was going on. My host-mother spoke not a word of English and I could…

    Orange Coasters

When life gives you lemons, make orange coasters? I saw these Citrus Coasters on Pinterest on The Purl Bee Website a while back and wanted to give them a go. I have to say they were such a pain to make – took such a long time and such a lot of effort. In the original website, the pieces were all held together by pins, but all this did was hurt my fingers as I was constantly pricking them. I would recommend mini-pegs for this: I used the pattern provided and I think the coasters are a little small really, so I would make them bigger next time to hold the cup…

    Make your own Rittersport Chocolate

There is nothing better than a good friend… except a good friend with chocolate… I could not agree more with Linda Grayson’s quote about chocolate. BUT – how about improving it: There is nothing better than a good friend… except a good friend with HOMEMADE chocolate… Yes, I like that even more. If you are a fan of Rittersport read on (you already know I love the stuff – just see here) and it’s been a whole year since I promised this post, so here it finally is! Bunte Schokowelt is a whole shop dedicated to Rittersport. You can buy bags, clothing, tins, phone covers and so much chocolate in…

    New Year's Resolutions Update

Shine Like Neon Rays… So, a whole month of 2015 has passed and I have completed one of my New Year’s Resolutions already! It’s obviously food related – haha. We made marshmallows – vanilla flavour – and they were absolutely delicious, especially melted in hot chocolate – WOW! They are super easy to make and very quick too – highly recommend it! Going to be making lots more of these in the future – these ones were meant to be red/ pink, but the food colouring just didn’t happen… weird! I told my lovely Korean friend that I wanted to make kimchi and she literally said she would bring me…
