Tell me more, tell me more…
Our lovely German friend and her boyfriend have the loveliest weekly custom. Every Saturday they wander around the Winterfeldt Market and then go for brunch at More.
The market is lovely. It feels posh, with nice looking crafts and organic food. You can even buy healthy oil to go on your morning cereal, if you like that kind of thing…
But let’s get to the food! The place is called More and that is what you want. More and More and More. It is swish, all in red and full of gay men. It is in the famous gay area of Berlin. The shops have stunning outfits. The people look fashionable. Gay couples wander the streets with dalmatian dogs. I want to move here…
Once again I digress. Back to the food: my friend said she couldn’t recommend one particular thing as everything was amazing. In the end we just picked a whole load of things and waited for the feast to arrive.
A lot of devouring took place and we spent ample time exercising our jaws. We sat and chatted and ate. And ate. And ate. I’m sure you can picture it… We were all bursting but the food just lay there in front of us, waiting for us to nibble more.
I would recommend the sharing platter. It had everything, from bread rolls, to cheeses, dips, meats, fruits… It is advertised for two people, but I would say share it with three or even four. We got omelettes and salmon on the side too, just because we are greedy. They also have a More British option, which we will be trying next time.
Everything tasted amazing. I guess if you had a little bit too much to drink on a Friday night (ahem!), brunch on a Saturday is just about the loveliest thing you can do. And the loveliest place to go to… is More!
PS: A quick tip: ask the waiter how they are feeling. Keep in mind these are young guys in tight black outfits who have been working since the early hours on a Saturday. After a Friday night of partying. You will always get a great reply of woe. Our waiter said he was ever-so hungover. He had been to a Halloween party but it had been a nightmare as he had planned to go as Cher, however the wig made his face look too fat and he had to change his costume…
