Guest Blog: Jen and Pat Butler

Outside the American EmbassySo what do you get when you take a sister fascinated with different cultures and a desire for adventure and a brother who likes sharing in adventures and is great at taking awesome photos?? – Jen & Pat visiting Poland, Germany and the UK for 11 days this past September 2013.
Jen posing at the wall. Some background – Jen is me, Jennifer Butler, American, proud Mississippi-native currently in Tennessee.  Pat is my older brother, Patrick Butler, currently still in Mississippi but willing to share adventures when I get the travel-bug in me.
A few years ago, I decided it was time to head to graduate school to continue in my favorite field of study – Japanese Studies.  So, naturally, I chose a school in England 🙂  The reasons are numerous but suffice it to say I attended the University of Sheffield and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  For one, I feel I’ve gotten a good education and all the stress and hard work were worth it.  But more than that, I got a chance to become friends with some amazing people and share a year of my life together with them.
One of those amazing people?  Jason Leather – my partner in crime/Japanese class and all around awesome guy.  When I mentioned I’d decided to come back to Europe for a visit because of our mutual friends’ wedding, immediately Jason invited me and my Bro to swing by Germany to see him and Vanessa as they began their own adventures in Berlin.  What a sweet offer – of course I said yes!  And so that’s how Pat and I found ourselves taking a train from Poland and spending a few days in Berlin with the sweetest, most hospital couple ever.
I’ll hand it off to The Bro now – he’s the storyteller in the family (and did I mention he takes great photos too??).

Why thank ya sis!

So, like The Sis has said, I’m a Mississippi-based freelance photographer who just
happens to have a younger sister that suffers from a burning need to travel the world and likes to take me along with her (even though I’m not that fond of flying) 🙂
But, what I am fond of is going to new places and photographing the journey as I do.  All of the following photos were shot with my iPhone 4s, using the Camera+ app to shoot, the VSCOcam and Afterlight apps to edit, and Instagram to post.
So, on that note, prepare for photos of: Berlin! Weddings in England! Living #DatLungeLife with The Sis, Jason, and Vanessa!
In short, get ready for #EuroTrip2013!
