Here comes Berlin's famous winter…

Let it snow (not!!!)
Say No to Snow!
So I stepped outside today and slipped and slid all over the place. Jason took two steps out of the office and flew comedy-style, landing on his back. It is beyond icy and with the cold wind, winter has officially arrived. It is impossible to go out without coat, gloves, scarf and hat. Brrrr.
Up until this morning, I was wondering what all the fuss is about. People in Germany complain about the winter weather more than us Brits. Everyone moans about the winter: the snow, the dark, the cold, the wind. Up until today however it has been lovely. On occasion it’s cold, but usually a jacket will suffice. And the sun has blessed us almost every day. And I’m not talking a little sun, I mean bright sunshine that requires sqinting and large amounts of Vitamin D consumption. Wonderful 🙂
Also, bizarrely (and luckily!) it only seems to rain during the night, when we are tucked up safe and warm in bed.
But not any more.
I have looked at this week’s forecast and I am tempted to hibernate. Tomorrow, the warmest it is going to be is -2C. Yes, that’s MINUS. Snow is about to fall. Wednesday and Thursday is looking like -9C.
It’s time to move back to England. Or better still, to the Southern Hemisphere. Your next blog post may well be coming from South America. That is if there are any flights left, as it seems most of Berlin has the same idea. We have met countless people who literally emigrate over the winter months and then come back to Berlin for its epic summer. I feel like I am going to be one of those people.
Brace yourself people. The winter everyone talks about has arrived…
