    Take That in Concert

Could this be the Greatest Day? I still remember hearing the song ‘Could It Be Magic’ for the first time. I was a child, lying in bed and the radio was on. Instantly I loved the song and knew I would become a fan. Then, the first poster I ever bought was of Take That – in the days when there were still five of them. I had started a crafting business with a friend making buttons and friendship bracelets and we had managed to make around £20 – not bad for two girls probably still under 10 years old. Amongst the things we bought was that poster that went…

The Gipsy Kings come to Berlin

Volare Oh yes. This happened. We use Spotify to entertain our musical needs and those kind people there sent us a message: ‘The Gipsy Kings are coming to Berlin’. If that’s not a sign, I’m not sure what is. So, obviously we nabbed us some tickets immediately. I have always loved their music, as did my mother. I listen to them a lot, so to get to see them live was such a treat! We saw it as a late Valentine’s Day present to ourselves. And luckily this time it wasn’t in the enormous 02 Arena, in fact we were able to walk there. The Huxley’s Neue Welt is a…

OMG – Michael Bublé at the 02

And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times It’s you, it’s you, you make me sing. You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything. So Jason and I have almost been together for two fabulous years and as a treat, he got us tickets to see Michael Bublé. For those of you who have spent time with me, you will know all I listen to is Bublé’s music. On repeat. All day long. In fact, I am swaying to his music as I type right now… It all started a long time ago. I remember hearing his hit Everything years ago. It was playing on the radio and…

    Happy Monday – Bruno Mars

Treasure, that is what you are… I hope it is a HAPPY MONDAY for you. For me it is not overly amazing. I woke up sick. And not just a minor little cold but full blown flu symptoms. I have pushed myself to get out of bed to write this but I will probably find myself tucked up again in a minute. I can say it’s a happy day as Jason is looking after me! Breakfast in bed is a grand thing… So, back to Bruno. I can’t stop listening to his music so I thought it would be only fair to let you all know. I remember a few…

    Tokunbo

We danced with the dog… This afternoon we took a break from constant translation (10 hours a day… it is harsh) and popped into a café we had come across on a jog (I KNOW – I go outside and run sometimes… even I am shocked…). I will have to blog about the most amazing cheesecake we had another time, because while we were sitting and playing some board games I noticed a poster on the wall. It read: Imagine you are in Germany. The year is 1937. You are black. To those of you who don’t know me that well, I love reading depressing books. If it isn’t about…

    Duo Komarimbar

Here’s one especially for the neighbours (quoted from the band below) Tonight we popped to our local bar. When I say local bar, I mean one of the three bars on our street corner. This time we tried the bar we haven’t yet stepped foot in and it’s a good thing we did, as it’s my favourite pub to date. Let me set the scene: candles instead of lights, every chair is different and every table too. Various benches and mats are dotted around… typical bar in Berlin then (hehe)… We had heard there was some African live music and anyone who knows me knows my heart is in Africa…
