Travelling with dog

Who let the dogs out?
A few short months ago, I would happily tell people that I didn’t like dogs. Or cats. Or any animals really, except pigs. I have always wanted a pig. They rock!
But recently I have become a bit of a dog fan. I’m still a bit scared of big dogs and mini dogs will always be rats on a leash to me, but little dogs with personalities are something I am starting to like. It’s easy for Jason, his family have always had dogs, but I feel if you haven’t had a dog growing up, then they take some getting used to.
photo 1This is Vincent. He’s sooooooo cute! He barks like crazy when you go into his territory (aka: apartment), but once he gets used to you, he happily approaches expecting constant cuddles. I didn’t realise dogs barking often just means they are saying hello. Vincent knows and loves us (phew!). When he sees us, he comes running up to us excitedly. It’s the cutest thing ever.
So when his owner asked us to go on ‘holiday with dog’ it was impossible to say no. He was so overly excited that he jumped into the boot of the car first and we had to coax him out of there and into the passenger door. As we drove, Vincent ran from the front to the back to the front of the car again, never sure who should cuddle him. Whenever we drove backwards he would bark and be very unimpressed. Then, the moment the door opened he leaped out, ready to sniff everything in sight.

Guarding the luggage, or pretending to be a suitcase?

Over the next few days, Vincent will be making appearances in our blog. Spot him if you can 🙂
