Sewing a cushion cover

It’s sew sew sew amazing!
Our place is slowly starting to get a “L&A” touch to it. Our photos are up on the wall, paintings are going up bit by bit, are cupboards are full of clothes and every spare area is filled with boardgames.
Now I’m eyeing up our boring cushions and I found an easy pattern to follow and a great video tutorial for an envelop cushion cover on Melly Sews. I wanted to use red, black and white and my actual plan was just to use two bits of material, however I was tired and had some pink bubbly to drink, so I didn’t really manage to count properly. I basically cut the sides too short. ARGHARGHARGH!! Instead I just added another bit of fabric onto the end and ‘winged it’. I managed to remember extra seam allowances on all the extra fabric and it turned out perfectly! I LOVE IT!

I can only recommend you all grab a sewing machine and try it out. Sewing really is so simple and so satisfying. It’s amazing when you finish a project and instead of buying something almost-perfect, you can make something that is absolutely perfect 🙂
