Making a Zipper Pouch

Zip it…
As I said already, I have been on a crafting frenzy this week. I am constantly found sitting in front of the sewing machine, making little bits and bobs and dreaming of making a dress that fits me absolutely perfectly. I’m sure it’s do-ABEL, but I’m a very impatient person and I want things done fast, so I’m just hoping I have the patience to keep up this lovely new hobby I have found.
I have randomly found myself surrounded by people who sew and are very good at it. However, all of these people told me that zippers are scary, difficult, should be approached with caution etc. So I bought two colourful zippers a year ago and they just sat in our little sewing box, occasionally peeking out but always being placed carefully back into the box for another day.
However, last week I was all over Pinterest (I’m so obsessed – help!!) and I saw tutorial after tutorial for zipper pouches. They didn’t look too hard. So, finally, I picked up the pink zipper and decided it was time to learn.
And do you know what? It’s really simple. Apparently there is an extra thing you need to place on your sewing machine to help you when you sew in zippers, but I only found out about it once I had finished my project. I made this in about an hour (most of the time is taken up by ironing and cutting out the pattern and of course choosing the material…). It made me want to make more stuff, as it’s so lovely! What do you think? 🙂photophoto1
