I have Tendinitis
Doctor Doctor…
I’m typing this very slowly. I’m only using my left hand. It is taking ages…
It’s because I have tendinitis. Sounds like a horrible disease – but no, it’s a wrist injury. Bad enough to warrant a trip to the doctors and a cast! I have no idea how I did it – the doctor was asking if I had cleaned the windows or done some gardening (what??), but I’m guessing it was at work lugging boxes in the stockroom. Being me, I worked through the pain on Friday and then again on the Saturday – a big mistake as folding clothes and working at the tills for eight hours on the busiest shopping day yet almost had me in tears with pain.
I got an appointment immediately and luckily I pre-prepared and showered and washed my hair, as I won’t be doing that for a while now…
The doctor was friendly and played around with my hand and arm. I then had a cast put on by more friendly staff.
Within half an hour of arriving, I was trying to get my coat on and out of the door. It is currently -3 degrees. Yes, you read that correctly, MINUS 3 degrees. December has only just begun, so I’m confused at how much colder it’s going to get up until February. Time to move South me thinks… anyway, I’m trying to set the scene for you all. Basically it’s freezing! And my arm doesn’t fit through my coat’s arm now I have a cast. So I dashed home in the Arctic conditions, trying to wrap my coat around the right side of my body. I couldn’t get my scarf around my neck. Then at the door, I couldn’t put the key in the lock. Right now I’m attempting to finish my yogurt (why oh why did I have to injure my RIGHT wrist??) and I would like to visit a friend, but I have to wait for Jason to get home so he can put on my shoes. I’m avoiding going for a wee and generally gutted I won’t be crocheting or knitting or sewing or even cooking for a week. In good news, I can dance like a loon, watch Modern Family and my nails are going to get so long! It’s already itchy underneath but I just realised I can’t wash up or clean… I guess it’s not all bad 😉
