April Fools?

I’m a fool for you…
For the past three years, I have had to get up at the crack of dawn, crawl to the newsagents and buy every single UK newspaper. The living-room would be littered with printed sheets as I trawled through the news, desperately searching for April Fools articles that we could then film and broadcast to Japan. April Fools is such a fun custom, but it’s not always easy to find the jokes, as the newspapers save a whole load of unbelievable stories for this special day, just to confuse us journalists.
This year everything had changed. It’s weird. You wake up on the first of April. The mattress feel different. You realise you are in a different bed. The room is so dark. A quick check of the time, it’s morning. Why are there shutters instead of curtains? Why can’t I see anything? Hmm…
Luckily it’s no April Fools joke!
We have moved house!
Already it feels like home. It’s more beautiful than I could have hoped or imagined and I shall speak for both of us when I say we are delighted! YEY!
I’m looking forward to meeting the two squirrels that frequent the garden area. I want to plant flowers and vegetables galore – bring on organic fare! I want to make curtains and cushions on the sewing machine. I also want to live here forever…
This month we are challenging ourselves to write a blog post per day, so pop back lots and get some updates on how the garden is growing! Will we manage to unpack before May? I don’t know about that, but I do know we will write a guide on the positives of moving house (I promise you that yesterday I was so gross and sweaty and in pain from carrying copious amounts of stuff up and down four flights of stairs that I couldn’t think of a single good thing, but I’m sure we will come up with something). Plus we have had cheesecake that hasn’t been written about yet, so stay tuned!
But for now, I am in the new apartment listening to the birds happily chirping away. Spring is here and the world is beautiful! It’s not too early to open a bottle of bubbly is it?
