A crafty present

What came first? The egg or the chicken?
I have to admit something to you all. In London I was never at home. I was either working like crazy and then running out to meet friends or we were dancing, eating out, chilling in the park, going on cycle rides…
But I think I have fallen in love with our new apartment. I don’t seem to want to go out. Sitting at home has become fun. I have taught myself to crochet. The sewing machine has been making appearances. I am working on my green fingers on the balcony with massive success…
I am sure once the excitement of moving into my dream home has subsided slightly I will be out and about enjoying the sunshine and my bike, but for the moment I just wanted to say hi to you all and show you this lovely little present I whipped up for some friends in Berlin.
photoAn old egg carton makes for a wonderful soil holder. Add a couple of seeds and on the top half of the carton (you might not be able to see it so well, it’s not the best photo ever), you can write down what seeds have been planted where. This time I planted spinach, mixed flowers and parsley. And because our friends have a garden, they can even plant the whole box directly into the soil at home, because it decomposes. A super cute present!
