    The British Tag

Rule Britannia… Via a whole load of blogs I dabble into, I found the originator of the British Tag – John. I loved reading his (and many similar) blog posts and thought I’d give it a go as well! Question 1: How many cups of tea do you have a day and how many sugars in your tea? I’m actually a bit of an odd English Lady, as I don’t drink tea unless I’m having afternoon tea, in which case I will have a dash of milk to change the colour of the water and absolutely no sugar. Question 2: Favourite part of your roast? OMG the roast potatoes –…

    Homemade Sewing Machine Cover

Wind the bobbin up, wind the bobbin up… I recently went to Hueco – a massive material store in Berlin. I will post about the shop soon, but I absolutely fell in love with this England material and just had to buy it. I had no idea what I would do with it until I looked at the ugly plastic covering on my sewing machine. It’s been annoying me since the day we bought it and I thought it would be a relatively simple job to make a new one. So I winged it and I LOVE it! I cut the plastic cover up carefully along the fold lines and…

The naked Germans are out already!

You can leave your hat on… Well, first bit of nakedness spotted today by Jason on the way to work at Wannsee. The sun is definitely shining brightly but it’s still a bit chilly here, however in true I’m-German-and-gonna-get-naked fashion, here is male number one: I’ve told you all about how Germans are a lot less prudish than us Brits in terms of getting naked and well, here is some proof. Us Brits are almost as bad, with our tiny bikinis in the park as soon as a sliver of sun shines through the clouds, but at least we cover up a tiny bit more than this man. If you…

I’m all about that bass… Although this is in German, it’s a clever way of making homeless people ‘seen’. Piazza Michelangelo Restaurant

It’s a-Mario… I’m not sure we’ve even told you about Jason – he has a foot injury and can barely walk. It’s been almost two weeks and an X-Ray, MRI scan and various doctors have told him to keep off his leg and rest. Difficult when you’re hungry, so we tried out the closest restaurant for dinner last week and it was delicious. While in England the restaurants seem to be mostly Indian or Chinese, here there are Italian restaurants littered on every corner. I think it’s expensive and so easy to cook at home, that Ristorante Piazza Michelangelo was actually one of the first Italian restaurant we have been to…

    Cyril the Squirrel

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce… …Cyril the Squirrel. What a cutie! The first time I saw a red squirrel was in Germany many many years ago and the next time was in our garden here. We have a family with three babies that just run up and down the trees and balconies all day long. Absolutely adorable. It’s actually cuteness overload! Our friend here wants to get a chair and just spend a whole day watching them. At the moment, the parents are teaching the fluffy little things to jump and how to look for places to grab on to. It’s interesting watching them learn these skills…
