Curry in Liverpool

Home sweet home…
So, we are officially back in England. It’s not even been a week yet, but already we’ve found a place to live and we move in tomorrow. All crazy fast and unexpected but exciting. I will tell you more once we have actually moved in 🙂 Plus we need to get our internet sorted, so don’t be sad if you don’t hear from us, we promise we are still here!
In exciting news, we will be continuing our foodie journey in Liverpool, London and everywhere else we pop into from now on. And we might as well start with the first curry we had!

Our foodie friend recommended eastZeast, which is known as ‘The Home of Punjabi cooking’. It was a lovely area at the King’s Dock, with twinkling Christmas lights and a Ferris Wheel around the corner. It showed in the price of the food, as we spent £25 each and we didn’t even have alcoholic drinks! We got a stunning Lamb Bhuna and then the typical Chicken Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer. The highlight was by far the chutney dip platter that came with the papadums. So much choice and if you are confused about which dip is what, you can lift it up and they have an explanation underneath. Grand idea!

So much chutney!!
So much chutney!!

You can see what you're dipping your papadum into underneath each of the little bowls.

The staff were super friendly (not sure if this is just normal, as I’m still used to the horrendous service in Berlin) and the place was pretty lush. Big chandeliers on the ceiling, two forks and knives on the table and everyone dressed up to the nines. Very bizarre to be in a fancy curry place, as I like to eat everything on one plate with a spoon and stuff my face. I would say it’s a bit pricey for what it is, but the location is fab and you can’t beat a curry! And if you’re still not dribbing, check out the family naan size!
