Making our House a Home
Our house, in the middle of our street…
We have been living in our lovely apartment for 9 months now. I LOVE IT – it’s black, white and red, has wooden floors, a spare room and a record player – literally my dream home right in Berlin. When we moved in it was already furnished and painted, so we got lazy and just kinda left it as it was. Even though we hung up some paintings in the extra room and put up a new shower curtain, that was pretty much it.
I’m getting all crafty and plan to make some curtains and make the place a little more ‘us’ and so on our latest trip to IKEA, I went a bit crazy. Not only did I get the large portion of meatballs, I also bought an entire bag full of frames. Big ones, small ones, gold ones, black ones, white ones, some with fun borders… a whole variety of frames. And now we have taken down the huge Brooklyn Bridge frame that came with the apartment (we put it on Free Your Stuff Berlin and it was taken away within an hour) and our smiling faces and those of the people we love are now all over the wall! We have a couple of fun prints up there too and plan on continuing the pictures onto the next wall, but I’m not sure Jason is going to let me go to IKEA for a little while now… ahem…

Yey! That is similar to how I like to hang pictures at ours too. Love it.
